Clearview shield discount (maybe?)

Clearview let me know my windshield is ready for shipping. However they stamped it twice with the DOT stamp. They are willing to give me a discount if I take with the two stamps. Those of you who have one of their windshields, how big is the DOT stamp and would it be all that noticeable with two? I got one of their 17" light grey with recurve for my 02 Road King.

it is about the size of your thumb nail. It is slightly smaller than the stock shield dot stamp. To be honest I had to go out and look because I did not recall there being a stamp on mine also light gray. In other words you will not notice it.

I never knew it was marked at all - didn't notice it.

you won't notice the stamp. they have an area on the web site for shields with blemishes, that might be a good judge on what discount your looking at if you don't know already.

They offered a discount of 15%. That's OK with me and what it really boils down to is covering the shipping charges. Now let's see if the quality is all that it's hyped up to be. I've read some good stuff about their product, so I'm fairly confident I'll be happy with it. We'll see!! Should be showing up this Thursday.

Clearview is one of the best windshields made and a real pleasure to deal with. I like some of the others had to look to even find the DOT mark. My riding buddy bought a blemished shield from them and had to really look to find the defect.

My new shield showed up yesterday morning and I installed it this afternoon. As all (or most) of you have said, the second and first DOT stamps are barely noticeable. Didn't get a chance to ride it though. Weather is nasty as hell here the Northwest today. Wind, rain, hail, you name it, just plain nasty. I'm anxious to test how well the recurve design works.
