Leather Dash Panel "Experiment"

This is "attempt I" . I cut and dyed some leather black, cut out a matching flame, dyed it blue, re-inserted flame and used contact cement. I am not to happy with the results but I learned a lot and will do it again. I only have it attached to the dash panel with a couple pieces of Velcro. Good idea by theory but the results left a bit to be desired. I hope the photo attached.

When using dye, it is a good idea to use the dye that doesn't "bleed". Washing the bike and riding in the rain could run the dye all over the tank. Just a nice thought from the man that makes my knife sheaths.
