adding cb radio to 2010 street glide
the dealer told me it would cost about $1200 in parts to add the cb radio to my existing am/fm stock radio. I tried to figure the parts needed myself and came up with about $750 just for the parts, mainly the B2B comm kit, wiring harness, comm kit/switch, ant kit and tank console. has anyone done this or famaliar with what is needed. forgot to add head set/mic.

76416-06C, CB module--$300;
70169-06, overlay harness--$120;
77108-09, BAMI kit--$380;
Antenna--$90; and,
Headset/Mic--$125
Your dealer's quote is close if you add sales tax. On the other hand, I'd order the HD parts from Zanotti's and get 20% off list and no sales tax.
I don't know what your plan is for the rider headset connector, or the price if the SG console is replaced with one that has the connector.
I installed the BAMI kit because it retains the OEM chrome tank console by providing a rider headset connection that sits on the tank next to the console and includes passenger headset connector with PTT/volume switch so a tour pak/speaker pods/controls isn't needed.
I also used the new J&M in-fairing CB antenna; cost $75 from Eastern Performance Cycles. Prefer it to mounting antenna on rear of the bike.
And spent quite a bit more for the headset and connecting cord by purchasing J&M Elite headset/mic and lower cord. Even at a really good discount, they cost $220 delivered.
Note: If you are questioning the $1200 quoted by the dealer, ask him to provide the detail.
Good luck with your project.

Harleypingman is right on the money here, I did mine a couple of years ago when some of this stuff wasn't readily available. Dealer told me it couldn't be done on an FLHX and I would have to go aftermarket....I have helped at least three local's figure out the pieces and also helped them install....100% plug and play.
Curious about the in-fairing antenna harleyping man mentioned, I have recently been considering changing to this. does it work decent for you?

I have the CB module from a 09 Ultra. Deinstalled from new (replaced with a ARC amp, both did not fit) Never used, 5 months old. $200.00 shipped.

Just an fyi, I have the ARC amp as well as the harley CB and XM modules under my fairing. The CB is velcroed to the top of the ARC and the XM is under the HK radio velcroed and zip tied. Not pretty but very functional.

Im thinking about the JMCB-2003, the cb mounts to the left handlebar, cb is trigger activated, cheaper and much less complicated than doing the harley set up.

I would think twice about that. You will have ZERO integration with your stock radio. With the harley radio you have the choice or where to send the audio, i.e. you can have the CB in the headset and the music in the fairing or you can have all the audio (including cb) come from the fairing or you can have it all go through the headset. Sometimes I just have all the audio come through the fairing and just listen to the group and don't talk back. I also have a handheld mic for the times when I don't want to wear a headset. With the J&M you will not have these choices, you will be able to hear the cb through a headset and that's it.
It may be a little cheaper but in the end you really get a lot less for your money.

The J&M handlebar mounted CB is a good unit. I considered it before doing the HD installation, but couldn't stand the appearance of the J&M on the handlebar permanently mounted.
The difference in cost is probably about $300 or less. The HD will cost $300 for the CB module, $120 for the overlay harness, and $379 for the BAMI kit; say $800 list, $660 from a 20% off list dealer.
You won't have an integrated system unless you spend more $$$ for the J&M Integrator in which event the modest cost savings are gone.
The HD installation isn't complicated, just tedious. In fact, with your '10 easily removeable gas tank, it's a virtual no brainer. Just read and follow the instructions; no special tools required.
Here are a couple of pictures of the BAMI kit installed on my bike. First is the rider headset connector located just forward of the seat alongside the tank console. It sits on thick, double-sided tape and is secured with a bracket that fits between the console and the rubber gasket. So no paint damage.

The second picture is of the passenger headset connector and PTT/vol. switch.

Glad to report that everything works as it should.
The J&M antenna works fine in the couple of group rides I've done. Haven't tested it for range, yet; but, frankly, I'm not very concerned since my primary application is for group riding.

Unless something has changed I don't think they make an integration kit for the handlebar CB to the factory HK radio. They do make some for the Zumo and cell phones but that's another discussion.
If they do make something like this now then this becomes a more attractive alternative.
I would call J&M and talk with them about it.

My bad; I thought I'd read J&M had an integrator with the application for HD's audio system, but I was mistaken.
