just purchased a 94 ultraclassic and was wondering if there are any soundbites of pipes out there,im looking at the vance and hines or the rineharts(had a honda vtx 1300 with bigshots and really liked the sound) also senthetic oils?

you tube has tons of sound bites for you to listen to, altho i would say you probably want to hear them in person to make a better call on what you like and dislike,

On my 94 ultra, the mechanic I trust and that knows all the tricks, told me to knock out the rear baffle in the stock mufflers. Even let me use his special tool that has a slanted end, which he hardened, and a hammer to knock them out. Gave the bike a little more flow and a change in tone without going too loud. Also kept the stock configuration to the bike which I like. Not too hard to do, just need the right size SOLID pipe and you can do it right on the bike, but I would recommend taking the mufflers off if you do it.

Almost all of those mfgrs pipes start with 1995 model. Not sure what the differences are, but thats what I noticed. Let me know what you find, I also run a 94 RK.

94 was the last year for the flanged type muffler clamp.

It is difficult to say the least finding the popular styles of mufflers to fit these header pipes. I had quite a few send backs beacause many were advertised for pre 94 but when they arrived they were the slip on type.

You may be able to find a used set of 95 and later pipes or go with the true duals.

I am currently running the V&H ovals and really like them for sound and power.

Yes, 94 had the flange. If you want to go with slip-ons, you will need to cut off the flange. I used a sawz-all with a nice fine tooth metal blade. Worked great, go slow.
