Re-Install 2010 RG Fairing

Ok, I ordered the service manual... but not in yet.

I had to replace the stock speakers; and make some mods.

Taking off the fairing was simple. Re-Installation was hell.

Not sure what I am doing wrong, it is now installed but there are some small gaps between certain areas of the outside and inner fairing. I really don't think it is on right and if it is.... why the gaps. I don't remember there being any gaps when I removed the outside fairing?

I have been searching for a How To section or video or something to help.

Next step might be taking it back to Harley and asking them to remove it and re-install it?

I really didn't think the outside fairing would be that hard to install.

Me and a buddy spent over an hour just to get it where its at now.

Maybe it is on right.... just dont like the small spaces and gaps....hmmm?

Any help or direction is greatly appreciated.

Getting the RG fairing back on is difficult....

If you look closely at the back sections directly under the glove boxes, you'll see some little fin like tabs on both the inner and outer fairing. Usually what happens is those arent lined up QUITE right which leaves gaps under the glove boxes. You can take out the screws in the fairing and wiggle the outer fairing on the right way. This should take care of the gaps.

Not sure about an 010 but on my 06 you can pop the headlight bucket out before reinstalling the fairing. This way you can guide the tabs back into their slots and then it's a breeze. After the fairing is back on you can pop the bucket back into it's home. Hope this helps...

They are easy to install if you align the top hooks while placing it on,then push down.
The side tabs then can be aligned.

Should the outside fairing side fins be inside or outside the inner fairing?
