Angry 1st Service & Something's Wrong

Just took my 2009 FLHT in today for first 1,000mi. service to the dealer where I purchased (73mi. away from home), waited on the bike since I live so far away took about 3-1/2hrs. no prob, browsed around. When I left clutch felt a bit different didn't think much about it since service guy said they adjusted it, got about halfway home w/very few stops on back roads and then a thunder storm came about pulled in and ate to let the storm blow by, didn't quit but eased up so I continued onward home. Going home had alot more city stop and go traffic. Anyway the prob is my clutch just don't seem right now, it's like its hanging up when taking off, but you feel it in every gear change. Also it use to catch about halfway not it's darn near all the way released before catching. Any suggestions? Called dealer they said swing back in but it's not just around the corner and still raining

I don't take my bikes back to the dealer for a couple of reasons. I don't know who they let service bikes, but they've adjusted clutch and it felt not quite right to me either. Also, they've left greasy finger prints on bike, and oil dripping off drain plugs, front of engine, etc. I do it myself, and the clutch is easy to adjust. Put it back where you like it. Some of them get carried away with adjustments. Just my $0.02. Jr.

The service writer said they adjusted the cable and clutch he thought, but the tech that had worked on my bike left for the day and wouldn't be back until Monday, so he was not for sure.

They do adj clutch at 1000 mile service, I do my own stuff, can't afford their prices.. It also sounds like they might have over filled primary side.. Do need to take it ....

BS. if tech completed RO, that means service manager is happy with his work. therefore, service manager is lying to you.

This won't be much help to u I'm sure, but i had a similar problem clutch on a 07 road king. My solution was to trade it for a 08 ultra.

Bummer the stealer didn't get right. I've adjusted mine myself and wasn't happy with the feel, just popped the derby cover back off and tweaked it again. Only takes 10 minutes.

adjusting the clutch is over rated. if you like how its working don't adjust it. just because it says to adjust the clutch in the book doesn't mean you have to do it. i don't touch mine for years at a time and its still the original from 1985.

A 2-hour round-trip and a 3-hour wait for service and somethings wrong? Sure would piss me off!

No I meant the ride. I LIKE a two hour ride. The wait I dont like. I take any reason to ride so I would welcome the two hours.

Actually I like a 14 hour ride in a day, riding from bar to bar is for "pretty boys'

Its a brand new bike and its under warranty. So take it back Also (I'm not being a smart a$$) but get used to it. My bike has been to the shop 4 times for one thing or another.
It used to piss me. then one day I said getting mad is not helping.I know you've heard "if its got t!ts wheels bolts or balls, You're going to have trouble sooner or later"
Enjoy your new ride it will be your friend for many years to come.
