removing passing lamps
Any Road King owners out there remove the passing lamps? Where did you relocate the front turn signals and what parts did you use?
I like the cleaner look of some Road Kings I've seen without the passing lamps and would really like to mount the turn signals similar to a Street Glide.
Please post me a pic if you have one.

Do you run a windshield or anything? I think it's the same "hole" that the Street Glide uses for the turn signals is the same hole the Road King's use for the windshield mount.
If you run a windshield... you will need to get one of those weird "studs" that Harley uses, with a couple of nuts on it. The stud is threaded both ends (oppositely), the middle of the stud is not threaded. You thread nuts all the way up on there, and the windshield grommet on one side. Thread that end into the hole, then run the nut in against the grommet.
Then you "screw" the turn signal onto the other end of the nut (wires not connected at this point, obviously), then use the other nut to lock in place.
We did this for some of the fatboys... IIRC.

I've had mine burn out, and really miss them.

Beserker is on it with the threaded studs.. I used threaded stock and use jam nuts to snug and tighten/lock. If your signals have thread in---you are good. If not you need to fabricate with a grinder and drill and nut and bolt it on.
Home Depot has threaded stock but not fine thread or you can buy stock and thread it yourself and have the whole job done with about 4 dollars in nuts and stock. No chrome at the hardware store for the nuts though. I would recommend getting chrome nuts for the application as they tend to get pitted fast if they are not chrome hardened. If you do not want or need to get longer ones for the bottom ones then get the studs for the quick release windshields they sell at HD and that should get you done.
I have small LED's that did not have the threaded part as the rear's do. So I had to fabricate the studs to attach the blinkers to end of the stud via a small hole thru the stud and nut and bolt the blinker on it.

thanx
Thanx for all of the responses. HD says I can use the same piece that the Street Glide uses. Supposedly, the spacer for the windscreen run inside of the side brackets. Looking at the Street Glide I'm not so sure.

Still undecided until I can find the turn signal set up I'm satisfied with. When I decide, I'll ping you.

FWIW, the RK Customs came with the t/s up on the handlebars, as they didn't have passing lights from the factory. Not the most popular set-up, I know, but just to give you another idea. The SG set-up is a clean look.

I used the Custom billet turn signals from Native Customs on my 2002 Road King. You can still used the detachable windshield if you want to set it up that way. Link with picture below.
