Ultra Backrest installation

Do you have to remove the battery to secure the front mounting bracket on the cable assisted backrest for an 09 Ultra?

Dunno, Had a '04 Ultra with the adjustable backrest, brckt was mounted on the left frame. '09, of course, has the leg heat shield in that place. I traded with the dealer for just the regular backrest and get along fine with it, it will tilt to conform with your back.

No you don't have to. It is a 10 minute job.

"Ditto" no you don't have to remove the battery. Just did it no problems.

No you do not have to remove the battery, but routing the cable is kind of a PITA. as it makes two 90 degree turns to get back to the right side of the support bracket, from the left side of the bike. Oh, and as always the instructions are terribly written.
