RG Windshield fitment
I just got an 01 RG and am looking at windshields, some places say that I can use a 98 - 03 windshield and others say I can use anything from 98 to 09 .
Which is correct, I would hate to spend money on a shield I can not use.

If I recall looking at Cee Baileys site, there is a small difference in the bolt pattern on the side bolts(screws) like maybe an 8th of an inch, but I dont think that would be big deal to elongate the slots(holes) to make it fit. Hope that helps. Later.

yes it does, if that is the only difference that should not be a real problem to deal with just a little time .
Thanks

LoneEagle,
I have an 02 RG myself and noticed the same thing you refer to. I never did find out for sure. I'd suggest you call Clearview at their toll-free #. Normally, John will answer the phone and probably will be more than happy to give you the answer to your questions.

I owned a 06 RG, and I bought a shield from Clearview. If I remember corrrectly, there is a difference between the 03 and 04 and later models. As tight as the fit is if you have the correct windshield, I do not think it would be a good idea to have to modify the windshield at all to make it fit. Good Luck in your quest and you can not go wrong dealing with Clearview and as someone else mentioned, just call them and they will answer your questions.

i owned an 01 and an 08 and the windshields will all fit. That said, on some there is some very slight difference(not in screw pattern fitment!) in the stock shields from 04 and up. it has something to do with the fairing 4 degree mount angle change in in 04. The actual fairings and thus their bolt/screw hole patterns are all identicle from 98 thru 2010. Some mfgs I believe clearview has made some light differences due to the flow characteristics associated with the angle change...
I think....

Just wanted to update .
Everyone I called said the only difference was stock height changed in 04 so I found a reasonabley priced stock 04 take off and it does fit my 01 fine the only difference is the height the 01 is 12" high at the center screw and the 04 is 16.5".
I hope this helps anyone else looking for a windshield .

I just installed a 17" cee bailys euro (really the Dome style of the euro) it say it fit all years but the SE's, installed their well nuts kit too 110% better than the harley well nuts, was money well spent the bolts where actually long enough that they would start!

All the Road Glide windshields will fit 1999-2010. They changed the inner fairing bracket and turn signals in 2004. I'm in the process of installing the '04 and newer turn signals and brackets on my 2000 RG. I also got the windshield strip from an '06 RG which is thicker and fills the gaps that the older style strip would not. Installed a 2008 headlight as well.

As noted earlier by someone else, I would call Clearview. If you go to there website it shows a different shield for up to 03 and a different one for 04 and later. I would think there is a reason to sell two different shields. Just my humble opinion.
