License Plate / Tail-light Questions

Just putting the 08 Ultra back together and would like to do something different on the rear. I added the detachable kit for the tour pack so now I need to change/ modify my license plate mounting / tail light. Been researching the common types at vendors but hard to make a choice just based on a picture. So does anyone have suggestions and possibly a picture on bike that is different than the stocker? Haven't decided about plate above or below light, guess I will decide after seeing some examples.
Thanks guys, all here have really been a big help!!

I made my own lay down plate holder. Took me ten minutes and turned out great. I have a sheet metal brake at work and bent one up. Kinda looks like this ___/\__ I used .062 aluminum sized just under what the plate measured so it doesn't even show. I will try to get a pic up later.

Good Idea

I have a full machine shop available. Hadn't thought of making one. I can make it out of stainless, what did you mount it to?
Thanks

I have the Kuryakyn curved plate mount and like it. It's under the tail light.

I mounted it to the original holes in the rear loop. I will try and get a picture of it for you.

here's what I did to my 2000 FLHRCI after also wanting something different. I found a tailight assembly off a Road King custom on Ebay, added led's from www.customdynamics.com and moved my license plate to under the tailights with a license plate holder from www.softbrake.com , I have attached a couple pictures to show you the difference. Good luck!!

I also removed my license plate bracket with an adapter from www.eglidegoodies.com and added the HD Street Glide extension in chrome to my rear fender.

Here is a shot of the factory below light mount used for export bikes.
I replaces the fender tip light.
