clutch, replace or not replace?

Hi there. I'm new to this forum. I have '04 flhtc with 20k on it. I have a 4k road trip thru mountainous Colorado. Want to be on the safe side, will it be wise to replace the clutch friction and steel plates before the trip to avoid clutch breakdown and slippage there? Or I have plenty of clutch life? Please advise.

Check back about the clutch in another 40,000 miles, have a great trip, come back and tell us about it.

I have 67000 on my 04 flhtc with mild build 100tq/90hp and just had the clutch out the other day replacing some seals and it still looks new.

Unless you routinely beat the he** out of the bike, there's no reason the original clutch shouldn't last well into 6 digits on the odometer. Assuming you keep up with normal maintenance of course.

Harley Clutched maintained properly on stock bikes last a really long time. I have never had to replace one on a stock bike yet. Built motors, of course, but enjoy your trip and dont worry about it.

Rest easy. There's no reason to do anything with your clutch basket assembly. And chances are there won't be any reason at 100k miles either.

Peace

Depending on the mile on the primary fluid, change the fluid, adjust the clutch per manual and go ride. Repeat every 10k miles.

I've had two builds in the 100/100 range on my 02 Road Glide. Just turned 134k on original clutch.
