speedo change

1990 FLHTC, anyone ever change the speedo? Have a manual, but dosen't tell me anything about it. THX to all.

Do some homework on ebay as most of the sellers will indicate what model and year there speedo will fit

Basically, you can use any speedometer used from 1981 to 1995 off of a FLHT or FLT. They are held in the oval housing by screws and just sit in the housing. If you use the latter ones, they might have a Cruse indicator light. Also some of the early ones just go up to 85 MPH.

I can give you some part numbers if you give me the year you want to use. I have part Catalogs from 1981 to 1995. The Inner fairing changed in 1996 and the speedometer changed.

yeah thanx ultra.............found a newer one with the cruise lite, Im in Canada and just picked it up from customs today. Dealer here said he could not get it so I ordered one from the US myself....go figure...parts man was to lazy to do some digging !!!! anyway I will swap out the speedo tomorrow....THX again.JED
