Question Comp/Collision Deductible

Just checking around, what is the general thought about deductibles. Back when I was younger I figured if I had an accident on my bike, I wouldn't be around to care about how much the repair was (and I was cheap/broke)
Man the deductible really escalates the premium!
What deductible did you choose and why?

I personally have 100 deduct. My yearly premium is still at 340.00.

500 bucks. Less costs way more and a larger amount doesn't really drop the premium a great deal.

I recently switched from $500 to $1000. It's not only the lower premium that's at issue, but I also asked myself how high the loss would have to be before I'd file a claim. $1000 seemed about right, as filing a claim will jack your premium costs quite nicely, too.

Here in Mass the difference between 500 and 1000 dollar deductible ironically is about 500 a year difference in premiums. Instead of 2000 a year I pay 1500 dollars.

$1500 to ride 8 or 9 months? I thought mine was bad when it went to $535.

And that is with the safest driver points, 10% off and multi vehicle discount!!I do ride 15-20,000 miles a year and all 12 months (was a tough winter this year though).
