Stereo help needed
I have a HD radio, I beleive it's the 04 model, installed in my E-Glide Standard. It was there when I bought it. I was told the CD player didn't work. No big deal. Now with having an Ipod, I plugged it in to the Aux jack and it does not work. It's like the Aux jack hole is too large. If I move it around and hold it tight against one side, I can get it to work.
Is there something to do to fix that? If not, if I buy a new radio like the Sony marine model from Eglide Goodies, do I have to do anything different to mount or can I use the same hardware the HD radio uses?

Thanks for that info. For that cost, I can have a new Sony marine radio/cd/aux player. Is there an advantage to having the HD one fixed?

You'll have to have an adapter for the sony, something like the biketronics. Been awhile since I have looked at this stuff but I think you're looking at $100+ for the biketronics setup tobe able to use a sony head unit.

I did the sony conversion on my 99 classic. Much better than the stock radio. The sony radio ran me about $130, I can't remember what I paid for the Biketronics wire harnes but the total was well worth it. I liked the sony so much I put the same radio in my p/u truck.-Al

It is just me but the aftermarket stuff all looks like it belongs on a pontoon boat. I have nothing to back this one up but do the aftermarket stereos torerate the vibration of being mounted in a Harley fairing, worrysome to me .

I've got a Kenwood in mine and Love it. My buddy runs a Sony and Loves it. I'll tell you this, we both sound better than our freinds running the Harley systems. Yeah, itf we wanted the hand controls to work we have to buy harnesses and spend more $, but we both just reach down and change it. BTW, they look fine to me.

I am an owner of a local home and car audio shop, we do alot of upgrade systems on HD, we stock the alpine ida-X300 this unit puts out 45 watts per channel and is an
I-pod controler deck, we run a I-pod connection to one of the rear bags and all the functions can be controlled off of the radio, the fm tuner on this radio is excellent too. sales.avc@gmail.com We answer more questions here and we do ship.

its about 210 for the whole system to up grade to a sony radio not including the radio.. its the harness that allows you to use the stock hand controls....
