AZ bike week and 4 corners
Bear with me-first time posting. Need help with type of roads encountered in Four corners area(NM) and Southern Utah. Live in Nor Cal-heading to AZ bike week 27th then looping up thru 4 corners to So UT then back to LV. Up 95 to Reno then Sacto bound. Any info would be helpful. No trailers-3 baggers.
Thanks

going down there on april 3rd til the 9th. ran an ad on craigslist looking for a bike to rent, anyone interested? don't think it's worth 130 bux a day to rent from a company. maybe a private individual might consider. responsible, adult, insured. let me know. as for the roads, desert is smoooth as glass.

Az Bike week & roads
No problem as far as roads in any of that area. I've lived in the Phx area and in Prescott area The ride from Prescott to Jerome to Sedona is an absolute MUST. But remember, the A.M. will be chilly-dress accordingly! Also while in Phx for Bike Week, take ride to Canyon Lake(lots of "twisties") and eat breakfast at Tortilla Flats-it was an old stage coach stop. Enjoy!

I'd say that April is a damn good choice for season to ride through those areas. Be prepared for anything though as it relates to weather. Bring a camera and stash your weed well.

When you're in the desert, just remember to buy gas when you can. Stations can sometimes be hard to find and you sure won't find anything between towns.

Also remember as you hit Phoenix, we have apparently fallen in love with ourselves as every highway, loop, SR and Interstate now has cameras. Take them seriously and keep it to 7-8 over.
There's also a noise ordinance in Carefree, AZ. You will likely be driving through there during AZBW. 80db and they have been known to have mics on the side of the road and write tickets. We locals know how to stay in Cave Creek and avoid the issues.

Are out of state vehicles being ticketed by the cameras? I thought only us locals were getting the shakedown.

I've seen a car parked in the middle of the road, lights off, on the Res. Other than sheep and cattle, the roads aren't usually bad in the daytime.

When you come out to Cave Creek follow the road out to Bartlett Lake, nice ride, the desert is blooming and the lake is full. Be sure to take the left over to Yellow Cliffs as you head down the last hill to the lake.

Was at the Hideaway on Sunday morning and then to Chester's in the afternoon. Perfect short sleeve riding in the afternoon. Cool mornings....rode up from Tucson and it was below 50. I'll be heading back up Friday afternoon for more... If you can get directions, San Tan is a place to check out, it's in Chandler. Great Southwestern atmosphere for food, drinks and entertainment.

Back from AZ
Thanks for the info-Hideaway was jammed Sat. Got my "Picture" taken on the freeway at 11pm Sat nite-nice flash. I hope my tourpak blocked the camera angle. Good ride-little windy up 95.
