My 2008 Streetglide (custom sound system project)

This is my 2008 Streetglide. I have been customizing cars and bikes for a while and this is my first harley (done with the whole sport bike thing)...

getting quite a bit done with the bike and thought i would share some of its progress... still waiting on painter to give me back my "true" extended bags and fender... i have yaffe 12" monkey bars to put on and a few other things, including custom wheels... then will tear the bike all the way done and custom paint it...

thanks, i have a little ways to go, but its coming along cool, i just did the pac, swi-jack, so i can use my hand controls, i love it... this camera suck though, but...

yeah it sounds amazing in person (as far as quality)... i havent had an issue with the charging system either, which is what i was worried about (the odyssey battery is holding up)...

i did some lower fairing speaker pods for a roadglide recently and I havent put them on one yet, i am probably going to try and use 2 JL 6.5 subs in them, should sound pretty good... if it does i will make some different pocket enclosures for my glide and free the bag up...

i have the sound i am looking for (even without the lowers)...now i am working on making everything space friendly...

Thanks Bud...

She's a lot of fun to rock around town but my next bike will definetly be a bagger, probaby a Street Glide. There is just something about those SG's that make them pop. Just today I was driving down La Brea near the 10 and saw a crazy tricked out SG...I heard it bumping before I heard the pipes growling! That dude has some serious cashola in that bike...and it showed.

I can't wait to see your bike when it's finished...I'll just make me want to get a SG that much more!

Why not add two more 6X9's in the other bag and get a tour pack for the SUB! LOL

actually my chopped tour pack, stretched bags and fender are at my painters... gonna make a 12" sub box for the tourpak, to see how that sounds, since it will be detachable... and compare it to the 10, if i like it better, i will sell the 10 and lose the 6x9s all together... believe it or not, my intention wasnt to lose the efficiency of having storage space on the bike (it just kinda worked out that way)... i realize my bike may be more on the extreme side, but when i am done, i will be able to show a variety of options, i am working hard to free up tons of space and i am certain i will do it...

i am used to having a chopper and many street bikes (that have no space at all), i cant wait till i get further along with my project...

not to hijack your post but by looking at your pictures i'd have to say you know what your doing with the sounds. you have any advice for
street glide speakers that sound better then the stock and perhaps a amp thats small enough to put in the batwing ?

no hijack at all I dont mind questions...

i have had great luck with the Alpine speakers (as far as midbass and good sound quality)... the ones i have are more expensive (SPX), but they have a nice SPR 5.25 coaxial that sounds nice too... as far as amps...

i love the hawgwired amps and their setup, but feel that they are pretty pricey, especially cause i get a deal on most audio equipment... i havent heard one in person, but i hear nothing but good things...

on the other hand, i have heard the arc audio mini amps and they are pretty nice, for the price also.. so if you have a little skill, i would get one of the new arc audio amps and the alpines (SPR components)...

as long as you use a decent component setup or coaxial you should be fine, there are many different brands, any of the major ones would be fine (infinity, jbl, jl audio, alpine)... i am just giving you an opinion on what i know works (based on my experience)

playing around with my hd video camera, forgot to hit the nightvision though, before i gave it to my brother (it clears up as the video goes on), then had to figure out how to cut it down... learning how to use the thing... i love how the pipes sound and the performance of the bike with the 103 (although, i didnt get on it at all, its good enough for me to put around on)... and i (and everyone else around me) can hear the music crystal clear

just threw on my lowers, they sound amazing, really adds to the bike and the vents work...
