Head light problem

Have something weird going on with my head light. Sometimes I turn on the bike and it is lit and other times it isn't. When it isn't I turn on and off several times the high beam and the high beam comes on but the low beam stays off. Then I just ride for awhile and the low beam will come on somewhere on down the road.

I have die-electric grease on the light connections. Is that the problem or is something else going on?

Thanks

Thanks. It is such a pain changing those bulbs on a touring bike.

Do you have the HID dual bulb? I had that problem and it turned out to be the battery. Believe it or not.

No just have a stock type bulb. It has been in for a good 8 months now and just started doing this.

or some of the insulating plastic has rubbed off your wires, allowing a short, as mine was. Wait til you see the connectors to the spots.....talk about 1920 technology.

I don't find it that hard. One screw to get the trim ring off. 7 screws and the bulb is out. I use an electric screwdriver with a long bit to remove the screws. When I put them back in I use the electric screwdriver to get them started but tighten them up by hand because of the rubber well nuts.
