Are the wobbles gone in 08?

Just wondering if anyone that had a pre 08 FLH and felt the need to by a third link stablizer.... Ride Str8, Sta-Bo, Alloy Art TXR, True Track etc. and has purchased a new 08.

Will you be buying a third link for your 08 or does the new motor mount fix the wobble issue?

I have 2500 miles on my '08 Ultra with no signs of wobble. My '04 Road King had no wobbles after 40,000 miles on it.

No Wobbles

my new 2008 Ultra Classic rides smooth as silk with zero wobble, there is now an adjustable link on top of the front of the motor that wasn't on my 2006 Street glide,my street glide wobbled at times, but I have none in the 08.

I have a 2006 FLHTCUSE and it chases every rain groove tar crack and bump in the road especially when it had stock Dunlops. I've run metzlers as the last three tires and now have Avons. Both make it handle these things a lot better but I still get some rear steer in longer fast sweepers if they are at all rough or uneven. I'm seriously looking into the true track.
On the bright side, I also have an 08 FLHR and even with the stock Dunlops I get very little input from rain grooves tar cracks and those same sweeping turns. It handles soooo much better than the FL that is part of the reason I've decided to look into true track to see if I can get it up to par.
I'm not sure the motor mount relocation was the fix for the 08 but it sure didn't hurt. I believe there was a change in 08 to the siwng arm axle bushings that might be the difference. But There is a significant improvement in handling of my previuos 05 RK and my current FLHT when compared to the 08 RK. The 08 is much better in the twisty's.

Starting in 07 Harley reinforced many of the frame joints with extra steel tabs according to an article I saw in Thunderpress a few months ago (Motorhead Memo) making the frame stiffer.

It's still there on the Road Glide. Moving the upper motor mount only made it viberate more at idle. When pushing hard in the corners you still get the rubber flex. I think the only way to get rid of it is to add the extra mount.

I never knew it was a problem on the RGs. I tought it wass pretty much an EG issue. Are you sure it is he same high speed wobble that is scaring the crap out of some folks? My buddy had the issue with his 04 EG so bad his wife refuses to ride it with him anymore.

I've never experienced it but it's been reported as an issue on all the touring models.
I would guess your buddy's bike has badly worn bushings and/or alignment problems.

Maybe I'm feeling the "hinge in the middle" flex. I know of the FLH wobble. Usually put you in a tank slapper at ~105-110+ mph? Some of the FLH wobble is due to the batwing loading and unloading on each side once it sees any oscillation. I don't thave that issue, at 110 (gps reading) I was still pulling and stable as a rock. But it follows rain groves and flexes too much for my comfort.
