Flounder wants to know Dino or Syn?
broken antenna stud 03 ultra

just bought an 03 ultra that needs a little work. The AM/FM antenna stud is broken off. I have read that you go inside the tour pack and there is a set screw and then the stud will come out. Well, I opened the tour pack and found where the AM/FM cable from radio screws on but no set screw in sight. Do I need to take the whole taillight assembly off of the tourpack or am I hosed?

thanks

Fix

On my '04, you will see a nut and washer on a stud inside the tour pack aligned with the antenna. Remove the nut and washer. The stud should be slotted. Unscrew the stud and the post (broken part) will pull out the top.
Hope this helps.

awesome thanks! it took me a bit to figure it out but I got it to work. The cb attena mount has the allen slot but I didn't see anything on the radio coax so I just put a wrench on it and started turning it and lo and behold it started to unscrew. I'll be down at the Harley store getting the part tomorrow and fixing my radio reception hopefully...thanks again!!!
