RG windshield "deflector"

U guys who have removed the windshield and in it's place installed the black HD wind deflector, how do you like it? Is it something for year around use or just hot weather? Does the black scratch off like the bottom of the stock windshield? I think it improves the RG front end look considerably.

It may be a little rougher than no windshield, it channels all the wind into your face. You have such wind noise you cant hear your own pipes...I couldn't wait to replace it...found a 10" custom fully shaded or clear that looks good ( no big bubble) and still diverts the wind

I like it for short rides, but put the factory height on for any distance. I'm also 6'2" and would like to cut the factory height down about 2", just haven't done it yet.

The 10" just a little more wind than stock but it does the job stock is 12". It looks more sleek and I like the dark tinted. I will be posting some new pics in a couple of days with it on as that bike is for sale.

Check out ebay search road glide windshileds the guy has some pics of the 10 " as well as the other sizes he sells.

I thought stock height was around 15"??? Are you measuring vertical height or vertical length of the actual shield??
