according to my book, 80 year harley history volume 2 the XLR was produced as follows......
the first XLR series bike shows up in 1958....
1958: XLRTT: 26 built
59: XLR: 5 built
1960-63: 0 built
1964
XLRTT: 30 built (not sure what the "TT" stands for)
65
XLRTT: 25 built
66
XLRTT: 25 built
67-71: 0 built
1972
an "XR" shows up at 200 built
73
an "XRTT" shows up with out the "L" at 10 built
74
"XR" shows up without the "L" or the "TT" at 100 built
75: 0
76: 0
77
"xlcr" shows up at 1,923 built and is a "CR" standing for cafe racer designed by willie G

xlcr: 1,201 built

xlcr: 9 built
1980-81: 0
book stops there, your bike has newer ammenities such as ...left shift, newer front fender, disk brakes and so on, so i would believe that bike was built to resemble the XLR's built in the past
