2004 883c Jett confusion!

I have been racking my brain over this one: Everywhere I read, I see to use a 180ish main and a 45 slow jet with 2.5 turns out on the mixture screw.

Here's my problem: I have the SE AC kit with Cycle Shack SO's. A Dynojet Kit was installed as well. I noticed that my pipes were sooty as well as my plugs. Granted, After I got the kit installed, I was using the enrichener too much and fouling the plugs.

I just put in a set of NGK's ran it as normal and it appears that the soot is still there. My bike runs real strong at the top end, quite responsive. It also runs super smooth at idle, no carb farts. I have fiddled with the mixture screw and have found that it runs fine at 1-1.5 turns out and the plugs are coming around to a straw color on the electrode. A little bit of black smoke when you crack the throttle at idle, nothing major. I can turn the mixture screw out until it puffs black smoke though. If I am seeing a rich condition at idle with a 42, wouldn't putting a 45 in make it even worse??

So here's the question: what's up here, what is the right Jet, Mixture combo for my bike as I know all engines are not created equal! I'm just confused as I'm sure anyone is when they start modifying their bike.

That's great info! Thanks! Everything I am reading is pointing to a rich condition at low speeds with the sooty plugs but I did notice a little RPM variation at low speeds! I'm really confused now!
