Broken Clutch Handle

Yup! Broke the Sumbitch right in half. I have no idea how. This is the first bike I have ever owned. I was riding, shifted from 2nd to 3rd and the thing came off in my hand. It has not been dropped. I got a replacement handle, attempted to take off the old broken one and can't figure out how (didn't pull, push or tug hard...didn't want to cause more damage).

I got the mirror and turn lamp off, but can't get the clutch handle to come off to put the new one on! I don't have a Harley manual (on order). Can someone help me out in the meantime? Is there a step by step instruction somewhere?

Thanks in advance!

EW

First loosen the clutch cable as loose as you can, then there's a "Jesus" clip (snap ring) on the bottom of the clutch lever pivot pin. Pull that off and lift the pin out. The clutch lever should come free from the perch. Then just remove the cable from lever, install it in the new lever and reverse the process. Adjust your cable slack and your ready to go.

Thanks for the quick reply. I didn't want to tear this thing up after only having it a month and 1/2!

Happy Riding!
