EFI Control: Power Commander V

I want to change intake & exhaust on a 2011 Iron 883.
Will need to dyno/tune EFI.

Anyone using a Power Commander, Fuel Pak, or other EFI controller?

...pending how much you choose to tinker with it I would just pick up a Patriot Top Fueler and be done with it. Avoid the Fuel Pac because you can never adjust it, only change the maps. The Thundermax/TT/PC and such will need a base map and a dyno to get it right.

The Patriot Top Fueler can be adjusted and for the cost is the best bang for the buck. ($275+-)

Before the comments start...I utilize both the Thundermax AT on my SG and a PTF on my XR.

dont sink a penny into the 883 untill you LQQK @ the RB Racing website for the exhaust get rid of that whole smog setup and a fuel pack does work for a lot less $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and no dyno is needed I have installed about 6 of them on friends bikes and they love them ! Get a K& N airfilter...a really good 2-1 exhaust and a fuel pac will make that 883 feel like at least a well tuned 1200

just putting loud mufflers doesnt increase HP Noise does not equate into HP

My 2 Hot Rod Bikes picked up 15 HP over the V&H supertrapp or just about any over the counter exhaust system you can buy...RB RACING2-1 Black Hole LSR is the way to go

I like the Fuelpak but did not choose it as the clearence is tight under the side cover. I went with the PCV for this reason on my wifes XL1200C and then if I decided to make it self tuning I could.

Based on what I have seen in cars, I would either get the PowerVision or the SEPST. I don't believe in canned tunes myself. I do it right or leave it stock. I would rather it perform well in open and closed loop throughout the rpm band at the smallest interval possible. There is more to tuning than fuel. Doesn't change spark advance from what I am reading.

Here is a list of stuff the SEPST can change


tuning constants:
Air Fuel Ratio
Throttle Position
Spark Advance
RPM Max
Idle RPM
Accel Enrichment
Decel Enrichment

It also does datalogging and it does look like Powervision can do it too
