2001 sportster 1200 question

How can u tell if a 2001 sportster 1200 is a XL, XLC or XLS? Trying to sell one for the widow of a old riding buddy and I dont know what type of Sportster he rode.

I believe in the 2001 model year, for the 1200s, there was an XLH, an XLC and an XLS. I'll PM you a link that might help.

On the VIN# "on frame" it should read "1HD4**. The second set of letters will give you the model designation. CG=custom CH=sport.
