update/a few questions

hey guys. riding has been great. I've been telling everyone, the bike is the best purchase I have made in years. I enjoy riding as much as possible. So I've already started looking into mods. I promised myself I wouldnt do this, but I should of known with my history in cars, it would of been the same thing. I am trying to convince myself to only do some cosmetic stuff, because the bike is solid and runs great. I know this is not a big thing, but i can not stand looking at the plate on the rear fender anyone have any idea where to get a side mount bracket? what else are you guys doing as far as cosmetic type stuff? I reallly like mag wheels so i probally wont get rid of those. share some ideas with me. I already dropped the rear end. it feels much better, because now I am flat footed and I personally think it looks better. I will find some pictures and post them. its an 06 xl883

Personally I don't think spending a lot of money on a sportster is practical, when a big twin handles better and is much more comfortable in the long run. There are very reasonable mods that can be done by anyone with some ability to read a service manual and a few hundred bucks. Most guys I know just opt for intake and exhaust mods to wake up the beast and cool it off some so to speak. Other than that the speed limit is still only 70 in the state I live in.

I have only been riding for a short while, and I agree with what you said in regards to the big twin, however thats why Im talking about smaller cosmetic mods, that dont require me spending a great deal of money.

Great looking bike. One mod I did was to add chrome oil tank and battery cover. I don't know if you consider $140 a cheap mod, but its a great way to add chrome to both sides of the bike. I got mine @ J&P : http://www.jpcycles.com/Search/Produ...results=10&No=
