08 1200c dyno run

Did a free dyno run at the local HD dealer. Bike is stock with V&H slip ons and stage one breather and a download.

Ran 68hp and 69.5 ftlbs torque.

Fuel mixture was 17.4.

Someone on another forum said this is way to lean. What do you others have for numbers on similar bike.

Way too LEAN?? I'd say. EPA says 14.7:1, which is supposed to be the clean burn mecca. Most bikes tuned for performance run 13.6 and lower.

Sure you didn't get those numbers mixed up? 14.7 instead of 17.4??

I'm hoping he just got the numbers mixed up. I'd like to see those spark plugs.

Pretty sure it said 17.4 but will re verify. I did not have the sheet in front of me when I posted this. I will review it tonight.

Guy at the HD dealer said it may run lean at idle but should be in the 13 range at faster speeds or it would not develop the power.

Other possibility is dyno or the opperator error.

Have the sheet and will scan it and try to post it.

I re read it and it does say Max af is 17.4. However the graph appears to be in the range of 13.9 to 14.7 or so. I dont know where the 17.4 comes from.

xieds are not a fix all , I see this posted up on many other sites as well. Bikes come in for tungin issues and most with these are not even close to correct afr. Poor milage, ping, you name it. But I will say that some bikes do run ok with them. Every bike is differenet and a one size fits all item flat out does not work. You will never be able to replace a good tune with a bolt on wahooz it. Once tuned customers are happy and those extra parts end up on e-bay.

A good tune will clean that afr curve up, and make the bike much more fun to ride.
