First sportster ride

Hi , I'm new here but just wanted to say that I took "my wifes" ,I'm not joking bike out for the first time on a 130 mile ride and had too much fun on it.What a great bike on the twisties and tons of snap off the line and surprsingly lots of guts from 50 mph to 80 mph.Its a 06 883 l with only 540 original miles on it.Shes tired of riding on the back of my electra glide so decided to sign up for a riders course this summer and we bought this bike for her.I find myself sneeking out on it more and more.I did find out a couple of negetives for myself which I already new from research. Leg room and no windsheild.I like the look of the cafe style fairing but how funtional is it?.Leg room can be figured out buy adjustabl pegs.I will say this and I can't explain it but when I ride the glide I always were my boots ,long pants , and leather jacket is always in the bags. On the sportster I'd feel at home with a t shirt shorts and sneekers maybe sandles. Can anyone explain?. Rodger

Now you know why some of us, me included, own a Sportster as well as a larger Harley. Riding my Nightster is a whole different feeling than riding my tricked out glide. It's quick, very nimble and just a hoot to ride. Sometimes it's nice to get back to the basics again. I ride the Sportster almost as much as the Glide now.
