Lightnin' strikes (before & after)
Okay, I'm starting this thread for changes to my bike....the gradual evolution of the sporty. Input is welcome although I already have most of my ideas to make her how I like her.
2003 XL1200C:
Kuryakyn ISO Grips with throttle boss, matching pegs (passenger & rider)
chrome carb cover
laydown license plate
S/E aircleaner
chrome fork sliders
fork tool bag
v-shield horn cover
headlight bezel

Things to come:
Corbin Gunfighter (plain black)
12.5" apehangers
s/s braided cables
change stem mirrors
oil temp dipstick
headbolt covers
and probably more that I can't think of right now.
work will be done in a couple weeks.....pics to follow.

nice bike
I have the same one (99 model)
a few things that I know that make the bike stand out, would be the new seat (i've got a mustang seat, similar to the gun fighter) and I love it.
also some pipes, exaust. and getting rid of that air cleaner.
also that headlight cover, does a world of difference on the front of that bike, doesn't it?
good looking bike
later

i thought of changing the pipes...but it'd be more for appearance than sound. I've already taken out the baffles and she's plenty loud (ask my neighbors). I eventually want some groundpounders or V&H short shots (if they ever make them for the sporty). But my money is going to the other things first, pipes down on the list.
stay tuned, more to come in about 2 weeks when the changes (for the most part) are done.

Met a guy who sells "custom" bikes. Big Dog bikes I believe. He freaked at the thought of apehangers on a sporty. Sh|t....I'm not putting 20's on em fer chreeeest sake. I've been at his dealership and let him know that alll the Big Dog's in his shop look the same except the paint job. woo friggin hoo. Did he ride his bike tonight? no. I was the only rider that rode in and it's 60 out. Insane.
