Looks good! Are you going to swap the rear rim also, or going to change out the front one later?

Looks great! Actually did the same to my nighttrain a week ago. How did you lower the back?

Obree,
Do you have any pics of your night train? Also, how tough was figuring out the spacing for the front wheel and the rotor. This will be my first project once the weather starts getting colder and I'm not riding every weekend.

Tx Outlaw;I'm not sure which wheel is going to get changed.I wanted to make sure first that I liked riding this setup, so I tried to do this as cheap as possible in case I didn't like it, I could recoupe most of what I put in it (right at $320 total for the wheel/tire/fender/headlight).So far I really like it, so I'll probably keep this setup and when I have the money get an 80 spoke front or save some money and get a fatboy wheel for the back.
Obree:I went with the Harley profile low shocks,I was told that the spring rate is different than stock (don't know for sure if that's true, but I went with them regardless and am happy with them)and since I do ride 2up kinda regular that sounded better than a lowering kit.

Can you please give some details on the front wheel / fender changeover? Does the fender bolt right in there? How about the axle spacers?
Thanks, John

I have the whole set up minus the spacers for the axle, including the bigger headlamp. The fender is bare and ready for paint, it sits at my paint shop..

Please excuse my ignorance, but doesn't changing from a 21" wheel to a 16" lower the front end quite a bit??? Or does the fatter tire make up for some of the diameter loss in the wheel??
I've got an FXSTI and would like to do this but am concerned about feeling like I'm riding downhill all the time and the ground clearance (ie, loading the bike into a pickup with ramps).

Depends on overall wheel diameter. I had installed a 130x18 on the front of my Train and it lowered the front about 3/4" (remember, you're using radius, not diameter when considering how much it lowers the front end).
