Hello..........Just got my first Harley...an 02 Softail Standard....my question is........how big of a tire can I put on this stock bike without rubbing issues, especially since I do a lot of 2 up riding...thanks in advance....
I have an 02 FXSTI, ride two up all the time. Changed last year to a Metzler ME880 140 with no rubbing issues, did reversed the fender strut bolts to increase clearance though. Have heard of others going to 150's with no problems, but it depends on what brand tire you use, some seem to be wider than others.
Thanks so much for your response.....there seems to be a consensus that 150 is as big as I should go with stock rim and no fender or swingarm changes and reversing the bolts....you are right on about different tires............I put a stock sized Venom X rear tire on my o4 VTX and it looked 2x bigger than the original.....happy riding
