Stock rack bag for 05 Deluxe?

Is there a bag ( fairly small gym bag size) that is made to fit the original rack on the Deluxe? Either through HD or aftermarket?

I use a T-Bags Lonestar Roll on the fender rack of my Deluxe.

Do you happen to have a pic of the roll on your bike? I looked on T-bags.com and didnt see the lonestar roll.
Did you put on a different rack? It looks longer than stock.

Thanks

Sorry for the delay in my reply.... The Lone Star roll is the same one used with the Lone Star bag. The roll can be ordered separately. Here's a picture of the Lone Star Roll Bag on my Heritage. I'll take one of it on the Deluxe and post it soon. BTW: It fits the stock Deluxe rack fine (Note: I have a passenger backrest).

Hey,
The wife and I just picked up two XL Bags from Bikersfriend.com
kind of pricey... but since we don't have saddlebags I wanted something to use for traveling to sturgis.
They look very well made and have many options for mounting and are able to lock onto the bikes. I have not set them up on the bike yet - so no pics.
I ordered on July 1st - they were on my doorstep the 5th.
Like I said, they were a bit expensive - and I hope the old 'you get what you pay for'
saying holds true - The site is worth a look.

The LoneStar Roll is part of the LoneStar luggage set, but can be ordered separately. I believe it costs about $60. My girlfriend and I use it to store gloves, glasses, light coats, water bottles, her girlie things, etc. It's amazing what all can be stuffed into one of these. I also used one on my Anniversary Heritage, as it was more accessible than the Heritage saddlebags. One nice feature is it's lockable. We used a small brass master lock purchased at Home Depot for less than $5 for this purpose. In addition, I sometimes carried a coiled cable bicycle combination lock in the bag and used this to lock the bag to the bike if I was at a rally or somewhere else theft of the bag might be a problem....

Here's the pictures I promised of the LoneStar Roll on my Deluxe.

I use Ram Mounts for my iPod and GPS, both on my bikes and in my car. The Ram Mounts pictured in my signature link came off of my Anniversary Heritage and are now on my Ultra.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, so...... Are you planning on using a Ram Mount to attach a bag? You probably could, as they make Ram Mounts for all sorts of purposes. I even have one for a water bottle/soft drink...

Thanks whiterabbit for the pics and the reply. Since I dont have a backrest I tried the Seat Pack Jr by Revpack. Very nice bag but couldnt quite get it secure enough on the small rack. So I bought the HD universal bag which secures with 3 straps (since i had a gift card to the HD dealership) Fits very well and holds enough for an overnight.

Glad to see you found something that works. The Harley bag is good quality and should hold up well.

I should have mentioned I sometimes use the T-Bag Longstar Roll without the backrest. In this case I mount it directly to the rack using a bungee cord and the T-Bag straps.

A comment on roll bags in general. Most will sag with time and weight (reminds me of my ex). I have 2 Lonestar rolls and have lined each with a roll of chicken wire with a cutout for the flap/opening. I then cover the sharp edges around the opening with plastic binder strips. This keeps the bags round and looking new.

thanks for the comments. I'll have to look into the chicken wire setup...The only things i wish i could do with the Harley bag is lock it and add a shoulder strap to it. It doesnt have and D rings so the strap would have to go throught the handles somehow.
