Clutch Failure?

SO, I was sitting at a red light the other day and all of a sudden my clutch handle just released and it stalled the bike.
There is an inch of play in the cable now and the clutch doesn't engage. No funny noises coming from anywhere.
I just installed a new cable a couple months ago, changed all the liquids in all cases and followed the adjustment procedure by the book, the real book, not a wanna be book.
I drained the transmission today, removed the trans cover to take a look. I originally thought the cable end had snapped off inside the trans case, not. It's fine, as are the throwout and bearings and clutch rod, all look very serviceable.
Anybody have a similar issue? I am draining the primary right now so I can take a look at the clutch pack, maybe tomorrow if I get time.
What does the forum recommend for a replacement clutch if I need one? The bike only has 8200 miles on it. Or possibly the pressure plate gave up the ghost?

Sounds like the cable housing was not seated at all the connections...now it is.

Try adjusting the clutch and cable again.

What year bike? When mine did that the clutch hub moved off the taper shaft. When you pull the outer primary and give the clutch assembly a shake.

I don't think it was a loose clutch cable. It seemed to work fine the last 100 miles or so.

My scooter is a 2008 Rocker C (FXCWC)

I'll give the clutch basket a shake tomorrow, if I have the time to disassemble the primary cover.

Had to be something with the cable, you don't have a tapered shaft, besides most anything else would make some noise

It looks like the clutch ramp was stuck. Quite possibly since I put it back together.
I am assuming the ramp was partially engaged and I adjusted everything with it like that.
I went through it again this afternoon and re-adjusted everything. Now I have so much clutch I am thinking about renting some out.
Put her back together and will fill up the trans and primary tomorrow. It feels great though just running it through the motions a couple dozen times.
