Night Train - Toolbox and Forkbags

I need some storage on the Night Train. Looking for something that would go with the Train asthetically and well made, easy to use, etc.

Anyone out there running a toolbox or fork bags they would recommend? Pros and Cons? Where did you install them on the bike? I have seen a Fatboy with the fork bag on the upper right side of the swing arm. Anybody else running one like this?

Thanks for the help!

How much chrome on your Night Train? Black and chrome look great if you go that route. HD makes one that bolts on to your swing arm. I have a "tool" bag on the front fork under head lamp. No tools in it, they're in the saddle bags.

I don't have a lot of chrome. My pipes are also black. I would post a pic, but I am having trouble figuring out how since we changed servers. Every time I try to upload I get an error. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. Can you guys post some pics of what you are running?

I have a fork bag on the front down tubes like some of the other people. Thats where I keep tools because it's a litte tough getting to on the fatboy. I also have the tear drop bag that attaches to the front of the rear strut in leather but I've seen quite a few different style. If you got a metel or chrome then give it a black wrinkle finish paint job it would look good. They dont hold alot of tools but you can fit what you need. I wound up getting the hard covered saddle bags so now I'm over bagged. The tear drop is about the best small one because it blends in with the bike.

Can some of you folks share pics of your tool bags? I'm interested in seeing how they look mounted.

I had a forkbag custom made with black plastic tab that keeps it locked. Put it abouve the headlamp on my bars. I know several people that are running the factory toolboxes that mount to the swingarm (some left them chrome some painted them flat black so they don't stand out as much).

I used 2 of the tool bags for storage. Here are some pics. They are also for sale if anyone is looking for some.

Take care,
Baldman

Baldman, yours is one of the hottest looking 'Trains I've seen. Great looking bike.

Thanks Stonep.

It doesn't look the same as in these pics though. Did a little overhaul on it.

Take care,
Baldman

I'm using the left side tool bag like Baldman's train... I like it alot.
Easy to get to ... since the primary is on the same side, it really doesn't take away from the lines of the bike.
