I'm flying from Texas to Kentucky to pick the bike up and it's supposed to be thunderstorms the entire time I would be riding it back so don't really want to do that...rather keep it covered. Any info will be appreciated.

I bought a bike in Oklahoma once, using a U-Haul truck to bring it home. The bike didn't have the long wheelbase of the Deuce, but the ramp was nice and long... the angle wasn't that great where it connected to the back of the truck. The angle was reduced even further when I unloaded the bike on a slight hill sloping down to the back of the truck. Will be close but I think it can work... especially if you load/unload in an advantageous place, with a hand or two to help.
FWIW, I enjoyed the ride home knowing it was back there, opening up the door every so often to see it tied down and looking secure. Good luck.
