Springer (FXSTS) front Fender Lowering Kit

Hi. I recently purchased a '92 FXSTS and the front fender was off it. I have it, it's just not installed. I was looking at some pics and how it mounts and it looks like it sits waaaay too high off the tire (seems like 3-4 inches!). I assume this was the stock configuration due to the unique front suspension setup.

My question is this: Is there any way to lower it down so it looks better? DOes anyone make an aftermarket kit? If not has anyone on here done it and can you tell me how?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that Kuryakyn used to make a kit that would lower the front fender. I went to their website but could not locate anything. They may have discontinued it. Here is a site that has some pics of a older Springer with it installed. Not good pics, but you can get the gist of it.

I agree with ya, on my 89 Springer, it was so high, I called it a dirt bike.

I found two different aftermarket kits in my 2001 Cutom Chrome catalog (it might be the european edtion). I don't need it myself (I get my 99 FXSTS tomorrow.....), but it was in the same page as the other springer stuff. I'd give you the parts # but I am at work now, so I don't have the catalog here.

I have the Kuryakyn front fender lowering kit on my 1990 Springer. Don't know if Kuryakyn still offers the kit but some dealers may still have it in stock. Also HD had a fender lowering kit available, it turned the '88-92 Springers into the '93 and later version. New fork legs and fender.
