FXSTSB Bad Boy Springer

Please post anything related to Bad Boys in this thread.

I thought I would start a new thread for fellow Bad Boy owners. To share any info you might have. I know HD only made a limited number, not sure how many. Anyone know? I heard around 3000. I get a lot of questions from folks who never heard of them.

Here is a link with an interesting article on them.
http://www.motorcycle.com/mo/mcharley/badboy.html

I was shopping for a regular Springer when I ran across my Bad Boy, soon as I saw it. I knew I couldn't pass it up. Bought it from the original owner in Phoenix, AZ in 1997. Poor guy was getting a divorce, I actually paid his wife as she was the legal owner.....sweet deal though.

Attached is a pic of my 95 FXSTB. I've made some changes but kept all the stock parts in case it ever becomes worth more than it cost new. I just put a set of new Ness/PM brakes on it, had them powder coated black.

Other mods and add ons:
Drag - Ness Stealth II Mirrors
Corbin Hollywood Solo Seat
Lazer Star micro B bullet turn signals (front/back)
Badlands Illuminator module
Screamin Eagle carb kit
Python 3 Exhaust
White Brothers adustable rear lowering kit
Custom Chrome Inferno clutch and brake levers
Progressive springer lower kit (not yet installed)
HD Black rear axle covers
Other HD accessories

Looking forward to see some pics of other Bad Boy's.

another Bad Boy

Got my Bad Boy about a year ago-'97 blk w/red, 4k m., bone stock. I beat myself up for around 6 months because I ride a flstc w/55k m. that I wouldn't trade or sell for anything out there. Need another bike like another hole in my head. The more I rode the fxstsb, the more I got over it. What a bike!! Rarely do I cross paths with other bad boys-but beyond that, the flat track bars, seat placement, forward controls, springer front, and you can never go wrong with basic black, it all comes together quite well. The fxstsb is a lot of fun and a real HOOT to ride. Willie G. did good-real good. Your right about a large large amount of folks {H-D owners} not knowing about this animal. Piper-a big fan of the softail-

Kinda funny this thread came up. I was looking for a Bad Boy around a year ago. I just love that bike! Couldn't find one so I bought the next best thing, a Night Train. About two months after I received my Night Train I found a Bad Boy with 95 (Yes 95) miles on it for sale! The guy was doing the big "D" and I lost out. Very nice scooter!

Quick question. Didn't the Night Train replace the Bad boy?

sun on the beach-with the Bad Boy

The 'Hole in the Wall' gang and I just came back from a ride out to Anna Maria Ils. turned south to Longboat Key on to St. Armonds Circle then down to Lido Beach with the regular stops on the way---We did good along the Gulf. Funny thing is, this morning when we left, I heard myself promise the FL that next time she and I will make a run. Go figure!

Heritage Harley-Davidson, West Mifflin,PA ( just south of Pittsburgh) has a "NEW" 1999 Bad Boy parked in the main entrance of their dealership. I stopped there today on my way to work just to check them out and spent at least 15 minutes drooling on their carpet. It sure looked fine. Sign said "COLLECTORS ITEM", I was afraid to look closely at the price tag, but I thought I saw 25,....something. Anyone want further info let me know, I pass close to them on my way to work, and could ask for further deatails.

1999 bad boy ???

Makes me wonder if someone is pulling some VooDoo-only know of factory Bad Boys '95/'96/'97[fxstsb]--then came the 'Train', {cool too without a doubt} I could be wrong-after all, factory made the 'Sturgis' in early '80s then again another Sturgis I think in mid-{?}90s for a year or two. I would sure check if I found or was looking for a fxstsb outside those 3 years.

its a 97 bad boy

If you go to the dealers web site you will see its a black and silver 97 with 51 miles...no price though, if they can bring $25 grand...all the better for us bad boy owners.

no front fender?

I was thinking of lowering the front end too (already slammed the back) and removing the front fender...I'll post pics later.

also debating on adding a jockey shift kit, setting up the brakes so front and back work off the foot pedal then getting new bars and hand controls with internal throttle cable.

any opinions?

I did see a bad boy last year....no front fender with jockey shift...very cool, the tank and back fender were repainted black, no bad boy stripes, the guy bought it from Oakland harley dealer this way.

TD-Bad Boy

Go for it TD-I just found this site about a week ago and every time I'm in it, I look at your posted B.B.-VERY NICE!! Don't go by me, talk to someone who knows for sure--sometimes I don't want my front brake on, and other times I want ALL of it and right now, and still other times I want both-w/gentle front. Maybe it's just the way I ride and have been w/other bikes as well for {lets just say alot of} years. The first time I saw my B.B. I thought it yelled-no screamed-for blk. apes-haven't done that yet. As for me, I have 0 plans of redoing the paint and refuse to keep it in a 'bubble' for later either. After all, a person just might wake up dead tomorrow--then how ya gonna make those changes ya wanted??? Have fun

black apes sounds cool

thx piper,
I agree black apes would be very cool.......
slammed front, no fender, black apes....you got me thinking
I have seen a few bad boys with apes but they were chrome....
check out the bikes at www.exilecycles.com click on the bike builds link.......the exile bar hopper would give you and ide of what apes would look like...only thing is no springer

yeah I agree about not keeping the bike in a bubble........the only thing I have been trying to avoid is permanent changes.......like cutting the frame for fat tire kit etc...
