Heat wrap

I just installed V&H big radius 2+2's on my Harley Deuce. I like to ride in shorts. Yap I got the momma if burns for the first time.
My question, would I have any kind of problem with heat distribution if I heat wrap the pipes first and then installed the provided not so good heat shields?

I doubt you'd get the heat shields on there if the pipes are wrapped. I don't think you'd have issues other than that.

I wrapped over my heat shields on my pipes, it's not as hot as without the wrap, but even with wrap they'll still get plenty hot to burn ya. I have an ongoing problem with passengers shoes getting melted by my rear pipe if they touch it, and they have heat shields and wrap

Wrapped my stock set and put the shields on over the wrap. Definitely cooler and seemed quicker reving.
