There is one company out there that makes a kit but it's pretty pricey. Don't know the name but I recall seeing the link a couple years back when I had my softail, search in the softail forum. Also kuryakyn makes a magnetic cruise assist, not a true cruise control but it does allow you to rest your hand and it connects to the brake light circuit so it shuts off when you touch the brakes.

I have been checking out the Cruisemount website. Does anyone know anything about them. They have no comments in the comment section. My wife is wanting a softail deluxe. Also I haven't been able to find any info through the Better Business Bureau .

The big difference is the customized cycle comes with everything, mounts out of sight behind the rea fender. The other one has a box mounted on the side of your bike which I wouldn't want if I were putting it on my bike.
I would of thought someone here would of figured out how to do it . Seems like most of the parts are off the shelf Harley parts. I,m sure it wouldn't beto hard to make up some brackets. Maybe I'm wrong and there is a lot more to it. But the module and cables look Harley .
Hers a pic of what you get.http://www.customizedcycles.com/img/...ents_large.png

That sounds like a good option for me. Is it easy to install and out of sight? I don't want an extra piece of metal hanging off the bike, but a simple way to rest my hand on a long ride would be great.

Just so you know the customized cycle one doesnt have a extra piece of metal hanging off your bike . It uses the road king module behind your rear fender out of sight.

Thanks, I took another look at that site, and I see what you mean. Is there any downside to a cruise control over a simple throttle lock?

Well when you go up and down hill the cruise control will keep a constant speed , just like your car. Set it and forget it!

The only downside I see is it costs considerably more, but I had 2 ElectraGlides before I got my Heritage, and the ONLY thing I miss is the cruise control. Iíve tried the throttle locks and throttle rockers, and cruise is the only way to go if youíre taking long rides on the expressways. I'm glad customizedcycles.com came up with one that doesn't add that big box to the side. I'll be putting one of these on before my next big trip. JMHO

Not a true "cruise control" but they work very well.
Just an easy twist of the wrist to accelerate or decel some then you can remove your hand and putt on down the road.
Plus they're extremely comfy.
