Not sure which bearing this bike would have being that the bearings were changed sometime in '92 but if it does have an INA bearing you would definitely want to change to the Torrington before you hit 30k.That's the magic number I have seen referenced but ASAP would be the answer I guess. While you're in there install an EV27 cam for a nice upgrade that's pretty reasonable.

About 50 hp
No Stage 1? Pipes & AC? Most install those before it ever leaves the dealer.Maybe it is Stage 1 and you aren't aware of it?

I personally love the fxstc as a blank canvas to build what you want.

That's the part that caught my eye.

Stock HP is probably around 60. I doubt there are any specific problems to look for. Evos are pretty solid engines. However, the bike is nearly 18 yrs old, so there could be any number of problems. Even if it looks good and runs good i wouldn't pay more than $5k for it. Good luck.

I've heard Evos from that year to about 95 crack the motor cases around the front lifter block. Look for oil leaks in that area.

I have a 94 Low Rider with the same motor and it runs strong with a performance cam, high flow filter assembly and a set of pipes. I bought mine used last year and I had to replace the rocker box/intake/exhaust gaskets which was easy. I replaced the primary drive chain and added a self adjusting chain tensioner for it. After that I was able to ride it all summer long without any problems.

i bought a 90 fxstc about 4 years ago from the original owner. the motor had been gone through, it was his only means of transportation so he put a lot of miles on it. the only problem i had was i had to heli-coil one of the front head bolts. guess when it was rebuilt they over torqued it or it was just time for it to go. other than that its been running great. i believe its stock, just a cam, adjustable pushrods and a S&S super E. but it starts right and runs great. as for price im figuring $8000.00 or under. $6000.00 and you usually are looking at something that your going to put money into, unless your real lucky. $5000.00 and, well what can you expect. front base gasket leak is pretty common, if it doesnt leak your good to go, if it does then you need to see how bad. id also stay away from syn. oil, you could end up with a lot of leaks. good luck either way.
