03 Heritage or 06 Fatboy
PLEASE HELP!! Ok i am deciding between which one to buy. 03 heritage anniversary 1800 miles and he is asking 11k. 06 Fat boy 7k miles he is asking 11,200. heritage is carb and the fat boy is fuel injected. Both MINT. I love the look of the heritage but i think the price is high and i would be getting a steal with the fatboy, but i dont like the color. it is the two tone amber red and silver. this is also my first harley. i have only had sport bikes. what are the pros and cons to each bike????

Any other options on the bikes? If you got the FB do you not like the color enough to paint it?

Hard to say without knowing what was done to the bikes...BUT sounds like a 3 yr newer bike for only $200 more is worth it. However, I prefer a Heritage myself...
I've never had FI so couldn't tell ya there...though I know some people that love the FI and I know some that do not...
I also prefer having bags on my scoot, though easy enough to add to a FLSTF.
As far as riding goes, they will be very similar as the specs are pretty close - same size tires, etc...
The guy with the 03 is probably trying to get top dollar b/c of the 100th anniversary thing...but 11k doesn't seem outrageous.

unless the 03 is a springer go with the newer bike... remember the early twin cams had more internal problems than most know about, the twin cams a few years older know and some of those problems have sort of been worked out. before you start to customize gear drive your bike - it's one major part of the tuning you won't have to worry about.... the stock stuff can blow your motor

I prefer the Heritage classic, but go with the FB. You are getting a bike 3 years newer for the same money.

I'd go with the Heritage. With those few miles, the bike is basically "new" anyway. Lots of the guys who bought those anniversary bikes did it because they were buying an "investment", and didn't ride them alot.
The Heritage is a great bike.. the bars are comfortable, and you'll LOVE that seat (they really screwed up the Heritage seat in 07 or so). The Fatboys just aren't that comfortable.
I wrenched in a dealership for 4 years, and rode a buttload of bikes. The Heritage is about my favorite, sometimes I wish I had bought that instead of the Electra Glide I did buy. The EGlide has the fairing and radio and more storage, but it's nowhere as comfortable (for me at least) as those Heritages.
My vote is for the Heritage, hands down.

The question I would have to ask myself is with an 03 with so low miles on it, is how many hours does the motor have on it from sitting in the garage and being started and blipped to show off to friends? Just because it has low miles doesnt mean it hasnt been abused due to ignorance!!

I prefer the heritage. It comes with big saddle bags and a windsheild, which would cost over $1,000 to add to a FB. However, I would also prefer the new engine and fuel injection. You can change colors for about $1,000 if you keep it simple. Tough choice, but go with the one that grabs you, otherwise you will always be second guessing yourself. No deal is a good deal if it is not what you want.

Hmmm.....decisions decisions. If it were me I would go with the heritage. The fatboy isn't bad but if you're like alot of people you're prolly gonna want to add saddle bags and some other odds and ends. Just my opinion Good luck and keep the rubber side down!

the price on the 03 sounds a bit high. I'd look around some more for newer with low miles. Is it in 07 they came out with the 96ci motor, if so that's a big plus on a stock motor. I had a 03 FLSTCI and now have a 08 FLHX. the new motor is great right out of the box.
