Best place to stuff registration and insurance?

Yes, it's silly FNG question, but where are good or traditional places to stash the registration and insurance papers?

I pulled the windshield with it's little bag and saddle bags off my '02 Fat Boy, so there's no dedicated place to keep them. I looked at several catalogs and found overpriced billet aluminum storage tubes but wondered if there is a simple and accessable solution, like gluing or taping a heavy zip lock bag to the underside of the seat.

Any ideas or wisdom appreciated.

I have a touring bike that has BAGS!, and I keep the papers in my wallet.

In my car, the glove box works, but bags on a bike are a little too "risky" for my liking.

You could always get one of those tank dash panel pouches. Fits a fork lock, misc stuff...could fold your papers and keep em in there...

Insurance card in my wallet. I never carry my registrations, not even in my truck. If they want to know, they have radios and computers.

Here in Virginia you can get a ticket for not having your registration with you. I have one of the leather tank panels with a pouch. Pouch is about the size of a pack of cigarettes, holds registration, insurance card, and a couple other cards just fine. Wouldn't really do anyone any good to steal them; there always there and I never forget them. Unlike my wallet which has everything in it except money!

They make some nifty chrome cylinders that bolt to the frame - they resemble the tubular oil coolers. They work. I just keep mine in my bags, but I like to live dangerously.

Another for the Wallet. I also saw that JP Cycles has a locking caddy that you can fit between the lic place and the mount where you can put all you stuff and lock it up.

But as usual I can't find a link to it on the web from their website and I loaned my catalog out.

.

Not the point. Failure to have documents in your possession is the violation.

39:3-29 Refusal / Failure to Exhibit Documents.

Fine: $180 per offense

Limited to driver's license or registration. (Refusal to exhibit insurance identification card is NOT payable.) Note: If violation is for more than one offense involving license or registration, they are separate offenses and the payable amount indicated is for each offense)

But when you say that you don't have the proof of insurance with you, they usually write you for that and forget about the speeding ticket. Then you show the proof at the marshall's office and it might cost you $15(and save you a point on your driving record).
