07 Fatty + Saddlebags

I just purchased this bike and I ride several long trips during the season.

Anyone have any ideas of what is functional and looks good on an 07??

Pro's / Con's of throw overs vs removable?

Anyone got any pics of their Fatty with bags on it?

Thanks,
Kerry

What looks good is a subjective thing. Suggest you go with quality, durability. After spending what you'll spend for decent bags, if they're sagging and looking like sheit after a couple seasons, you'll be PO'd.

After checking out every bag set up I could find and dragging my heels for 3 years, I went with Boss Bags. They're great. Ridiculously overpriced - as most HD-related stuff is - but they're damn-nice bags.

Some guys even go for hardbags. I'm doing up a set of bags soon off a R/K that will be retrofitted to a fatboy.

If you were lookin for a good set of leather bags, ya might check out some Heritage ones which should be an easy fit to your scoot. You could als get some quick detach ones if you wish to take them on/off the bike...

I second the Boss Bags recommendation. I looked for a long time and decided on Boss, and now six months later I am still very happy. In addition, you can check out Leather Pros, they are an offshoot of Boss Bags. They don't have as many styles but they are a bit cheaper. Also, check out Fox Creek Leather, they also have very nice bags, at a much more reasonable price.

Also look at how the bags mount (if you want them to be detachable). I was not impressed by the Harley mounting, but the others all mount the same way and it is very secure.

Smile Boss

I own a 07 FLSTF & choose the Boss Bags also. I ordered them & they included the wrong bolts (Sportster) accidentally, when I called to ask about replacement(correct) bolts he sent them immediately. They follow the same look as the seat (laced/3 studs) & are almost twice the capacity of the little Harley ones that follow the look of my bike. VERY happy with them & even though they are detachable & I am hard pressed to find a reason to remove them. I enjoy the extra space & always find something to put in there that I need on my ride(jacket, chaps, shades, water, sunblock, etc....)
AWESOME bags. I will try to post a pic later.
