No... on the Evos, it is between the tanks. It is not ONE tank, but instead two "halves". Under the console is a gap, the Turn Signal Module is there, mounted to the backbone.
Even for the Twin Cams, it is not under the seat... that is the ECM. the TSM on those bikes is down by the rear tire, behind the splash guard.

Is it common for people to talk **** here? Seems very common.
Maybe I got it wrong...but don't I have to remove the tanks to get at it? And don't I have to drain the tanks to do that?
I might be missing something, but...there's absolutely no reason to ridicule someone who doesn't know something. You weren't the amazing Harley expert you clearly are now right from the get go.
Thanks for your input, though!

Did you not just remove the console? It's only one nut if I recall correctly. Put a towel on your seat and just "fold" the console back over the seat. You should be able to see/access the module that easily.
You should not have to remove the tanks. I think he was "laughing" because you assumed it was going to be tough, and didn't remove the console. It's really not a big deal to just pull back the console. Try that, and report back here if you have any issues... or you can just PM me if you want.

I haven't done anything yet. I have my front end apart right now and am focusing on that, but...
PM sent so someone else doesn't ridicule me to make themselves feel bigger.

You should be able to change the module without draining or removing the tanks. If you need more room, you can undo the rear and top tank mounts. Then spread the tanks at the top. This should not be very hard.

OK. Thanks. I think I've actually seen a photo of someone with the tanks spread like that.
hey...another question...someone gave me a run/turn/brake controller but it's a plug-in type. Is my bike a plug-n-play setup like that or no?

What they gave you is probably the newer "Amp Multilock" style connectors, the Evo you have is the previous type (forget the name). The connector where that usually plugs in is under the seat, near the right side of the rear fender... you can see if it will work just by looking at that.

Yup, found it and nope, not the same connectors.
was told this is a knockoff of a badlands illuminator pro 3. Not designed for older evo bikes.
bummer!
