Loose Kickstand Spring

This is my second spring on my 2003 Deuce. Works for about 2 days and now the kickstand hangs loosely below bike an inch or 2, occasionally dragging on left turns.

What's the deal here? Are there better aftermarket springs? Springless stand? Thanks

Whats the deal with your kickstand? It seems like something is worn out letting it hang down loosely. It doesn't sound like a spring problem, but a mount problem.

It sounds like the attachment hole on the kickstand arm is worn or slotted and lets the arm dangle. Check both attachment holes for wear.

That's one thing I hadn't thought of yet. Any chance you know the part number for a new catch? Thanks for everybody's replies.

It should be 50015-74A but check with your local dealer.

Jiffy Update

Just an update to my spring problem. Happened to be in a Dealership today. I explained that this is my 2nd spring to the service manager and The stand is still loose.

I asked if there was a solution assuming that I am not the only one that has seen this. He suggested " replacing the spring". Where do they find these idiots?

What has anybody else done?
