Road King vs Heritage Classic
I have a Dyna Wide Glide and want to move up. What do you guys think of these two bikes (Road King Classic vs Heritage Classic) and the good and bad differences?

I personally like the heritage, which is why I bought mine. For me, the r/k sat too high (yes I know you can lower them) and the heritage felt just right. Very versatile bike - you can strip it down or dress it up. Great bike for short zips or longer rides too. Have you sat on both?

I never rode a Road King, dont even like to sit on them in the showroom. I went from an ultra classic to a Heritage and in my opinion its a better all around bike.

I like my Heritage. It fits me, and I'm 6'2" 250. Also I can take it from this (reminds me of the late 40's FL)

I can go from bar hopping to being ready for a road trip in 15 minutes. The only thing I added was some tunes.

I rode a RK for the first time a month or two ago. Did not like the riding position at all. It felt like the bike wasn't part of me. With the Heritage, you sit deeper and the bars are higher and that gives you the feeling of the bike being wrapped around you.
Make sense?

I have both and they both have their good points and bad. Roadking has better brakes, better lean angle, and is more suited to long distance touring. Heritage is one of the best looking IMHOP bikes ever, ability to take bags off and bike still looks good, balanced engine and you definitely feel more in the saddle and connected on the Heritage. It really depends on what type of riding your gonna do if your plans are to do long distance riding and you could only own one bike I would go for a RK with a detachable fairing. If you have the oppurtunity I would test ride both. Good luck !

Rent each one for a day each. That will help you make up your mind. Don't rely on another person's opinion. They have their own reasons for liking theirs, which may not be the same as yours.

Being a softail rider I find adjusting to the RK, its pedal location, and its lesser factory rake odd. I have ridden both on extended rides and prefer the Heritage. Put a Dragonfly fairing on it and theres no competition in my view.
I am going to guess that if you ride Dyna's other then the Wide Glide you will feel more at home on the RK.

Touring all the way. That best bike Harley makes for all around riding. The Heritage is a fine bike in it's own right, But I feel they are more the Local rider type bike, as the rear suspension will beat on you on long hauls and the lean angle makes cornering at speed difficult to say the least.
I know, many do love there softails, but are they better then a touring?
No way, there is nothing a softail can do better then a touring, and a touring can do everything better then a softail.

Hmmmmmm.....I don't seem to have that problem with my Road King. My B.I.L's Heritage would numb my hands and feet.
