Question Fatboy Detachable Sideplates

Hi all,
New to the forum. I am in the military overseas and am picking up my 03 Fatboy in July. I am taking delivery in New Mexico. What I need to know is how hard is it to put on the detachable sideplates? Keep in mind now that I am flying in with my T-bag and I will probably be putting these parts on in the parking lot at the dealer to save the 70.00 an hour labor rate. They want three hours labor to do this. Does anyone know if the Bubbas side plates will allow the turn signals to remain in place? Also I will be installing a HD windshield. All I want to do is save the 350.00(5 hours labor) they want to do the sissy bar, windshield and crash bar.

Thanks for the help.

thegrants82,
I just installed Bubba's kit on my '03 Heritage, it was not difficult, but also not really a parking lot job. The kit comes from Bubba's in a fairly small box (12"x16"x3") I purchased a new torx bit set from Sears to do the job, the only problem I ran into was removing the four stock bolts from the sissy bar, 3 out of four stripped out, and I wound up using vice grips to remove them. I don't know how much different the fatboy will be from the Heriatge, but I assume not that much. Perhaps someone out there in the Forum is in New Mexico and can help you out, after all you are serving our country. Good luck and stay safe!!

The reason I mentioned the size of the box, was maybe you can just pack it until you get to a garage!!
