Fatboy oil change

When changing the oil on a fatboy how do you get the oil out of the tank

the drain plug is under the bike, between and above the rear shocks. it's a blind mans trick but you'll get use to it.

Ummmm... that's the TRANSMISSION drain plug that you described!!

The engine oil drain plug (for Twin Cams) is at the frame, right side right at the back of the frame rail. A hose goes from the back of the oil tank down the right side, adjacent to the swingarm, down to a "fitting", with drain plug.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but how many of you folks replace all the o-ring and gakets every time you do the service?

As others have said, the engine oil plug is under the bike on the right side.

I replace if the o-ring/gasket are damaged or appear worn out in any way. 28k miles on my ride and have only changed the engine oil o-ring twice. Once for the primary o-ring and once for the tranny o-ring.

Works for him... I change 'em each time. For the little money, I just make sure they're "fresh".

I change the fluids in all three holes frequently. I usually re-use the rubber o-rings on the engine oil plug and the transmission plug. If they look damaged, I replace them. I just keep a supply on hand - they are cheap.

Same goes with the gasket on the primary - I usually re-use but have a new one on-hand just in case.

anybody got an idea of the o-ring size? I decided to do my last fluid change and withhold paying dues to the motorco and the o-ring has been shredded. I used the search function but couldn't find the info...
