Stock Speedometer with no TSSM?

Can anyone help me hook up my stock Speedometer without the TSSM? My bike is carbed now, thus no stock harness or electrical stuff. I'd like to put my stock gauge back on, but cannot find anyone to help me with the wiring if possible at all. Is this possible, and please help me with it if so. Thanks inadvance for any assistance

It's an 07. I have a service manual, but it routes the signal through the TSSM to the ECM, neither of which do I have anymore. Sorry for not being more specific. i switched to a carb set up

I take it they didn't make any carb models in 07, and your manual doesn't show any wiring for carb models. My 04 manual shows wiring for both carb and efi. But I'm not sure if wiring has changed in those 3 years.

Anyway, my 04 manual shows a TSSM on the carb model circuit diagram also. The speedo is supposed to connect to a black 12-way socket housing on both carb and efi models. So I'm not sure what you have. What model Softail? Did you swap out the wiring harness when you converted from efi to carb? Send me a PM if you think I can be of any help.

Get a wiring harness for an 06 carbed bike. You can't get rid of the TSSM it also controls the turn signals and bank angle sensor.

TSSM is long gone. All I have on the bike electrically now is a headlight, Tail/brake light, and the starting/charging equipment. I've installed an automotive style starter switch with off/on/start w/spring return to on. I'm just looking to re-install my speedometer without adding a bunch of other crap.

Unfortunately, that other crap is probably what operates the stock speedo.

I don't know if the TSSM massages the signal from the speed sensor in the tranny and sends serial data to the speedo, or if the speedo takes raw pulses from the speed sensor. If it takes raw pulses, I'd guess you could probably wire up the generic power wires and hot-wire the seed sensor input to the speedo. If the TSSM intercepts raw pulses and sends serial data to the speedo, you're screwed.

Thanks Talon.......thats what I was worried about too. I guess I'll have to do a bit more research before i wire anything up.
