Installing king-size windshield

My nostalgic detachable king-size windshield (57140-05) came in the mail today and need to no if there are any tricks as far as putting it on.
The trim was all put together just like the picture above, also a package of nuts, bolts, bushings and spacers and that was it.
Need to no if thats all I need because I thought there where side brackets that came with it.
Thank's

Is there mounting hardware on your bike? did your bike come with a windshield. This should be a direct replacement. If you don't have the hardware, take down the part number of the windshield and buy a docking kit for your bike, make sure that they sold you the correct windshield.

I think you are looking for " too much stuff"..

I installed this same shield on my bike, and there are just four mounting points you install on your front forks, very clean looking without windshield.

I'm starting to understand winshield's alot better now,the new winshield does have four mounting points,it came with the hd winshield. The winshield was all put together right out of the box.
I thought I had to install the framing around it so basicly all I had to do was pull four screws out and put back 4 new ones.
Now that I have them installed I'd like to get a smaller winshield so I can switch them out if I want.

Just curious, but were there instructions in the box with the windshield? I have the same part number and the instructions made the install a no-brainer. No?

My first windshield and the only thing that threw me was the mounting posts did not line up with the brackets.. Didn't want to screw up anything, but the dealer told me to just flex the shield some to get the brackets to line up... Don't be afraid to do this when you first install the shield...

There was no mounting hardware on my bike.
I had to go back to the dealer and he gave me directions from another box.
All I had to do was pull the the two screws from each side and replace them with the new hardware that came with the winshield.
I had to bend the winshield because it did not line up with the roller.
The winshield is big and gives good protection but I need to buy lower one and switch off,now that I have docking hardware can I buy another brand winshield.
Thanks

You should be able to purchase any HD shield that is designed four your bike, they all mount the same. Aftermarket is a different matter, check if they match the stock HD mounts. I got to say I have never had a HD part come with no instructions.
